Introduction:

  • This subject is important to the Lord, because God is not a loser. He cannot lose — because He is God.
  • Yet we, His people, often live defeated lives.
  1. Before Numbers 13 – Setting the Stage
  • Israel delivered from Egypt by God’s mighty hand (10 plagues, Red Sea).
  • Journeyed to Mt. Sinai; received the Law and built the Tabernacle.
  • Tribes organized, began journey toward the Promised Land.
  • Despite God’s miracles, the people grumbled, doubted, and rebelled.
  • God continued to lead them by cloud by day and fire by night.
  1. Numbers 13: The Mission and the Mistake
  1. The Command (v.1-3):
    • God instructs Moses to send one leader from each tribe to spy out Canaan.
  2. The Journey (v.17-24):
    • Spies sent to gather information: people, cities, land quality.
    • Found fruit so abundant it took two men to carry one cluster of grapes.
    • Spied for 40 days, returned with a mixed report.
  3. The Report (v.25-29):
    • Land truly flows with milk and honey.
    • BUT: the people are giants, cities are fortified – "we can’t do it."
  4. The Faithful Voice (v.30):
    • Caleb silenced the crowd and declared: “Let us go up at once... we are well able to overcome it.”
  5. The Doubters (v.31-33):
    • Ten spies discouraged the people.
    • "We are grasshoppers in their sight."
    • Fear spread, faith shrank.
  1. Key Message Points
  2. NOW is the Time for Victory
  • Caleb said, “Let us go up at once.
  • Faith acts in the present, not the past or future.
  • We must claim God’s promises today — not someday.
  • Spiritual victories are seasonal: and now is harvest time!
  1. WE are the People for Victory
  • Caleb said, “We are well able.”
  • Not "I" or "they," but we — victory is a team effort.
  • God designed His church to be a body — every part matters.
  • You are part of a victorious people — born again for battle!
  1. THIS is the Place for Victory
  • Victory happens where you are, not where you wish to be.
  • God put you here – this church, this city, this generation – for a reason.
  • Every part of your life is a battleground: heart, mind, body, morals.
  • Ask: Who’s winning in your life? God or the enemy?

Conclusion: Choose Nothing Less Than Victory

  • Make a better choice right now.
  • Don’t believe the lie that you are a loser – God does not make losers.
  • Choose to get in the fight:
    • Faithfulness over unfaithfulness.
    • Service over slothfulness.
    • Holiness over compromise.
    • Victory over defeat.
  • Caleb saw the same giants as the others but had a different spirit – a spirit of faith.

Final Challenge:

  • Ask yourself: Who’s winning the battle for my mind? My heart? My actions?
  • Make the declaration today: “As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.”
  • Choose today to accept NOTHING LESS THAN VICTORY.
