Luke 13:6-9 Time Is Running Out

pastord writes "After encouraging the Pharisees to repent from their own sin, Jesus adds to the mix a sense of urgency. He tells a parable about a fruit tree. The tree has not produced fruit for three years. The owner wants to cut it down but His servant promises to take extra care of the tree over the next year, then, if there is still no fruit it will be cut down. Jesus is warning the Pharisees that God has been looking for fruit from them for a long time and finding none. His patience is almost exhausted and Jesus is the servant trying to fertilize their stubborn hears. May we bear fruit for God. The fruit of a life dependant on Him. The fruit of others brought to Jesus through us sharing our relationship with Jesus. Thank God for His patience with our rebellious hearts.
