           Who We Are
Our Motto :
Green Lakes Baptist Church will be a burning beacon filling Hampton Roads with the light of Jesus and from here, the world.

Our Promise:
We are committed to fulfilling the Great Commission by reaching all people with the gospel and growing them ever closer to Jesus.  We will lift Jesus up in heartfelt worship, enjoy each other in loving fellowship, urge one another closer to Christ through discipleship, minister to those in need, and take the gospel of Christ to all those who do not know Him.

Luke 12:49-53 Jesus Divides
Posted on Friday, August 15 @ 00:00:00 CDT by PastorDadmin

Daily Bible Study pastord writes "Devotion to Jesus divides families, nations, marriages, and friendships.  When someone throws in their lot with Christ he changes their life.  Frequently those around them begin by appreciating those changes.  God often begins His work with the rough edges of our lives that hurt others most frequently.  Inevitably, however, those around us begin to think we are taking this Jesus thing too far.  We are accused of becoming fanatical or overzealous.  The fact is that following Jesus is a whole heart affair.  It means believing what the Bible says about right and wrong, when those around us would rather listen to our culture’s definition of those lines.  It means carving out time for God and missing some things others want us to do.  Following Jesus means encouraging others to follow Him as well, and many are uncomfortable even being encouraged in this direction.  The name and mission of Jesus divides.  Let us make sure by our understanding and love that only He divides, not our manner of presenting or living for Him.
Without Wax,
Dr. Dwight
